GIMP Tips is a personal project to document tips, tricks and tutorials for the free GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program) application. These pages are in no way associated with the official GIMP Project.
GIMP is a fully featured open source graphics manipulation application. It is actively developed and has a great community support.
I have been using GIMP for the past 10 years or so (since around the year 2000) for various tasks including photo manipulation, website design and various other bits and pieces. I have primarily used GIMP on the Windows platform, so the information contained here will be specific to the Windows version of the application (but also applicable to other operating systems with some minor differences).
Articles and tutorials will be tagged with the version of GIMP used at the time the article was written. As time permits when new versions of GIMP are released techniques will be verified and updated to correspond to the latest version.
GIMP Tips is my way of documenting some of what I have learnt over the years and giving back to the GIMP Community. It also acts as a reminder to myself. The information contained on this site is not intended to replace the official documentation provided by the GIMP team.
If you already understand some of the basics you will be sure to find something useful here. If you like what you see why let me know via a comment on the article or you can contact me.
